Ownership of platform content, your content license, and brand use.
1. Platform ownership
The Platform, including its software, source code, design, look and feel, user interface, user flows, text, graphics, structure, and arrangement, is owned by StudentLife Technologies LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, trade dress, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Platform except as expressly permitted.
2. No copying, cloning, or competing products
Cloning the platform is prohibited
You may not, directly or through a third party:
- Copy, imitate, or reproduce the Platform, its design, look and feel, user interface, user flows, features, or underlying systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Platform, except to the limited extent that law expressly permits despite this restriction
- Use the Platform, its content, or any data obtained from it to design, build, train, or operate a competing or substantially similar product, company, or service
- Copy, re-list, scrape, or aggregate career fairs, events, opportunities, listings, or the school and department directory from the Platform to seed, populate, launch, or operate another product, application, startup, feed, dataset, or service, whether or not it competes with us
- Use our designs, screenshots, copy, or materials to market or build a competing offering, or to represent our work as your own
We actively protect these rights and will pursue available legal remedies, including injunctive relief and damages, against copying or cloning of the Platform.
3. Trademarks and brand
StudentLife OS, the StudentLife OS name, and our logos are trademarks of StudentLife Technologies LLC. You may not use them without our prior written permission, and you may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation that does not exist.
4. Your content and the license you grant
You retain ownership of the content you create and post, including the opportunities and listings you publish. By posting content, you grant StudentLife Technologies LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, adapt for format, and surface that content as needed to operate, improve, and promote the Platform.
For an opportunity you publish, this license expressly lets us show it in the student feed, search, and recommendations; match it to relevant students; generate a flyer, QR code, and shareable link for it; display it on your public profile and in our marketing of the Platform; and surface analytics about its performance to you. We do not sell your content, and this license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for copies retained for backups, legal compliance, or audit, and content others have already shared or saved. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to everything you post and that it is accurate and lawful.
5. Third-party content
Respect the intellectual property of others. Do not post content you do not have the right to use. We respond to valid infringement notices under our DMCA policy.
6. Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback about the Platform, you grant us the right to use it without restriction or obligation to you.
7. Reporting infringement
To report copyright infringement, follow the process in our DMCA Notice and Takedown Policy.
